NIGERIAN CONTENT POLICY

SWETS GROUP is committed to meeting and exceeding the requirements and expectations of the Nigerian Content Development Policy. At SWETS, we shall adhere to the Nigerian Content Directive (NCD) on local content, materials, suppliers and manpower as well as the usage of facilities, rendering of services – professional or otherwise – by Nigerians or companies incorporated in Nigeria. We are dedicated to drive a structure that ensures a dominant Nigerian engagement in our business and services while ensuring all strict compliance with relevant standards.

To achieve this, we at Swets Group shall;

  1. Ensure that her workforce is continuously reinforced by qualified Nigerians who are trained within and outside Nigeria, furnished with required and acceptable skills needed in the execution of our services in the oil and gas industry.
  2. Show our commitment in complying with the Nigerian Content targets of achieving a minimum of 80% Nigerian Content, progressive up to 100% in five years, in terms of total monetary expenditures through the deliberate utilization of Nigerian human and material resources without compromising all Quality Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) standards.
  3. Liaise with our foreign partners to provide technical assistance for our employees to create a system of capacity building and technical skill appreciation, thus leading to constant improvement in our services as well as a surfeit of expertise within the Nigerian context.
  4. Ensure that equipment used in all our services and job executions are mainly internally sourced. We shall endeavor to patronize the Nigerian economy by sourcing materials within the country, and in cases of unavailability, go outside the Nigerian environment.
  5. Ensure proper liaison and communication with local communities wherein our services are being carried out. Unskilled and Semi-Skilled labour from such communities could also be employed within the project period, depending on the duration and scope of the project.

QUALITY HEALTH SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT POLICY

SWETS GROUP, as a customer-focused Maritime, Oil & Gas organization is committed to the achievement of the highest standards of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment in every aspect of her business endeavours, delivering services and products that guarantees her customers satisfaction at all times.

This WILL be done with the highest level of professionalism and efficiency in an ethical manner that will prevent harm, injury, ill health to people and pollution of the environment.

SWETS GROUP commits to comply with all relevant legal and statutory requirements and apply best management principles and practices aligned as a minimum, to ISO 9001:2015; ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards to the benefit of all stakeholders..

All employees have an obligation to comply with the policy. This policy and subsequent amendments shall be communicated to all employees and made available to interested parties.

SWETS GROUP undertakes to keep this policy updated, to implement and maintain its management system, and continuously improve her Quality, Health, and Safety and Environmental performance.

FRAUD & MALPRACTICE POLICY

SWETS GROUP is committed to preventing, detecting and reporting fraud, and in co-operating with other organizations to reduce opportunities for fraud.

The Company shall manage the fraud risk by:

  • Defining, setting and maintaining cost effective control procedures to identify and deter fraud.
  • Investigating and reporting all incidences of actual, attempted or suspected fraud, and all instances of major control breakdown;
  • Encouraging staff to be vigilant and raising fraud-awareness at all levels;
  • Ensuring key controls are complied with;
  • Providing staff with effective confidential reporting mechanisms and encouraging their use.
  • Taking action against individuals and organizations perpetrating fraud against the group and seeking restitution of any asset fraudulently obtained and the recovery of costs;
  • Co-operating with the police and other appropriate law enforcement agencies and authorities in the investigation and prosecution of those suspected of fraud.

Purpose:

  1. To document clearly the company’s attitude to and stance on fraud.
  2. To demonstrate to internal and external stakeholders that the group deals with fraud in an appropriate manner.

Scope:

  • This policy applies to the group, and will be applied globally.
  • The following actions are among those considered to fall within the definition of fraud:
  • Theft of company property, including information:
  • Forgery or alteration of company documents;
  • Willful destruction or removal of company records;
  • Falsification of expense claims;
  • Unauthorized disclosure of confidential information to outside parties;
  • Misappropriation or use of company assets for personal gain;
  • Undertaking or assisting in illegal (including money laundering, which is covered by the Group Anti-money Laundering Policy)
  • Acceptance of bribes or gifts to favor third parties;
  • Unauthorized premium discounting;
  • Knowingly generating or paying false claims or invoices

COMMUNITY AFFAIRS POLICY

SWETS GROUP is committed to ensuring good relations with communities wherein it conducts its business.

In order to promote mutually beneficial relationships with host communities, SWETS GROUP shall:

  • Establish a community development programme to complement the efforts of Government agencies and donors in the Company’s areas of operations
  • Build sustainable development partnerships by enlisting the full participation of host Communities in project planning, implementation, and monitoring
  • Establish ongoing communication with all social segments of host communities in order to address their concerns and aspirations
  • Ensure that the benefits of development assistance are equitably distributed among community social groups by lending special attention to the most economically disadvantaged
  • Respond to formal community requests in appropriate and timely manner
  • Continuously assess the social impact of all new core business activities and take needed preventative or mitigating measures
  • Require all SWETS GROUP subcontractor staff to relate with communities in a respectful and responsible manner
  • Ensure that contracting organizations adopt standards of work and behaviors that are wholly compatible with this policy.

DRUG & ALCOHOL ABUSE POLICY

SWETS GROUP recognizes the importance of safeguarding and promoting the health and safety of her employees, contractors, visitors and all stakeholders within the company premises and sites.

Therefore, the possession, use and consumption of drugs (except where medically prescribed by a doctor) and alcohol within any of the company premises is strictly prohibited.

It is the policy of the company:

To maintain a dry office at all times with respect to drugs and alcohol.

To deny access to any employee or individual conducting any activity for, or on behalf of the company from her premises/sites

To conduct random alcohol tests on suspected, or as required, other staff and/or contractors. Refusal to submit to the test shall be viewed as positive and attract a disciplinary action being taken.

To mete out appropriate action on culprits, up to dismissal and/or reporting to authorities to face prosecution under applicable law. Defaulting visitors and other stakeholders shall be removed immediately from site and reported to the appropriate authorities.

SWETS GROUP undertakes to keep this policy updated, and it is mandatory for all her employees, contractors and other stakeholders to comply.
